PORTLAND
ELECTRICAL REPAIRS LIMITED (PERL) was originally set up to handle repairs
and refurbishment of medium and high tension motors of its then owners WAPCO.
In 1982, it began commercial rewinding operations for companies outside the
cement industry. The company became a member of the Negris Group in early 2007,
when it was acquired from Lafarge WAPCO.
PERL is an industry leader in the
rewinding and repairs of alternators, transformers and electric motors of AC/DC
and flame proof specifications.
With a workshop area of 1.337 square meters
and a lift crane capacity of 20 tonnes, we are adequately equipped to handle
small to large range electric motors, transformers, alternators and other
industrial electric equipment.
Our workshop is adequately and
continuously updated to handle jobs from fault detection to re-engineering. We
maintain high level material stockholding of vital material quality to reduce defects
and bottlenecks in works programming.
Experience is one of our dependable
strengths. Our technical personnel have the advantage of an average of 15 years
on the job experience. Their experience on the job is also constantly being
enriched as a result of regular training and our technical relationship with Savcio
Holdings, South Africa,
an internationally reputed electrical equipment/consumables manufacturing and
repair company.
Commitment
to Quality
Our consistent and stringent attention to
quality assurance and testing procedures stand us out as a quality conscious
company that understands the importance of reliability and quality delivery of
serviced electrical equipment to the profitability of our clients. We are NIS
ISO 9001:2000 certified and we adhere strictly to the Association of Electrical
and Mechanical and Mechanical Trade (AEMT) good practice guide.
Moving
ahead
To continuously improve our operational
system and quality output; PERL management is developing a bigger and better
equipped workshop in Otta. With the completion of the workshop, PERL would not
only consolidate its position as the leading company in the electrical equipment
repairs industry in Nigeria
but also become a reputed global player.
