SPICE IT… OUR CORE VALUES

At NEGRIS, we believe that the measure of a person is deeply rooted in their values, and the measure of an organization, deeply rooted in its people.

Seven (7) values, representing the priorities for our culture (the behaviours/attitudes of all staff in the organization) have been identified as ‘core’ to our business operations. The acronym for our core values is SPICE IT. They include:

1. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

At NEGRIS, we are committed to carrying out business in a socially responsible and ethical manner - supporting universal human right, protecting the environment and providing benefits to the communities where we work, and even the larger society.

We demonstrate this commitment through some of these activities as industrialists

Our staff is therefore guided by this in the way they interact with people and in the way they do their work.

2. PROFESSIONALISM

NEGRIS prides itself as a professional organization par excellence.

Our staff maintains professional attitudes expressed in expertise, assertiveness, commitment and accountability.

We ensure that all existing rules, code of ethics, standards of practice, and policies/procedures that govern the conduct of professional activities are observed to the latter.

3. INNOVATION

At NEGRIS, we readily experiment with new ideas, new services and new processes across all dimensions of our business.

We are constantly thinking of ways to improve and add extra value by doing things differently because we believe that even the smallest of improvements can have a significant impact.

Our staff is therefore encouraged to break new grounds, eschewing any form of resistance to new ideas when it arises.

4. CUSTOMER FOCUS

We, at NEGRIS believe that the only reliable judge of our performance is the client or customer who pays for and uses our services.

We have therefore set for ourselves, the key objective of exceeding expectations of clients and customers for whom we provide energy, engineering and other services, thus meeting their needs better than our competitors do.

This requires us to be clear on what our clients/customers needs really are – not what we would like them to be – and to measure how well we meet those needs, as well as our performance compared to competition.

5.  EXCELLENCE

Excellence may seem to be an abstract concept, indeed, but we at NEGRIS, have chosen it because the nobility of our vision - “to maintain a leadership position in any sector of the economy we find ourselves.” - demands nothing less.

We believe that excellence can only be attained through continuous efforts made by courageous, ambitious, and tenacious work groups (teams), driven by the passion of our business.

We therefore encourage staff to have high aspirations and strive for excellence in all endeavours, which will result in organizational, professional, and personal improvement.

6. INTEGRITY

NEGRIS takes a professional, objective, fact-based, non-partisan, non-ideological, fair, and balanced approach to all of its activities. This is founded on ‘integrity’.

To us integrity is an unfaltering devotion to honesty, truthfulness, doing one’s duty and doing what is right.

We therefore conduct our relationships with all our stakeholders to high ethical standards. We do what we say we will do. We do the right thing for our clients, employees, shareholders and associates – even when faced with personal, professional or economic pressure. We are trustworthy and honest in all our dealings.

We believe that integrity is the foundation of reputation, and NEGRIS’ approach to
Its work assures both.

7. TEAM WORK

Negris derives its raison d’être from individual professionalism that thrives on teamwork.

We perceive teams as ‘the melting pot in which all skills are combined, where ideas are shared, and difficulties managed in order to reach an objective’. We understand that teams can resolve issues much better than individuals would, work in ‘silos’. We encourage working with others with an open mind - listening to each others opinions and respecting individual differences.

In summary, we believe that more, in terms of individual and company goals, can be achieved through working in teams than as individuals.
